CFC Supports AB 2289 (Eng) – Smog Check Program
Status: AB 2289 passed Assembly Appropriations on 5/28 and is on its Third reading in the Assembly Floor as of 6/1.
Summary: AB 2289 would improve the Smog Check program by reducing pollution through the use of new technologies that provide considerable time and cost savings to consumers. In addition, this measure will improve consumer protections by adopting more stringent fine structures to respond to stations and technicians that perform improper and incomplete inspections.
