Consumer Federation of California Applauds Governor’s Signing of AB 1319 (Butler) – Banning Toxic BPA in Children’s Products
‘We applaud Governor Jerry Brown for supporting the healthy development of children with his signature on AB 1319 (Butler). Governor Brown’s signature confirms the overwhelming scientific evidence indicating BPA is not safe for human consumption, particularly for young, developing children.’
AB 1319 prohibits the use of bisphenol A (BPA) at detectable levels above 0.1 parts per billion in baby bottles, sippy cups and containers of food and beverages intended for consumption by babies and children below the age of three.
